I went to Flatbush Zombies’s album release party and the vibes were heavenly.
I was first introduced to the Brooklyn based rappers a few years ago. Back then, they were generating a lot of buzz in the underground music scene. Fast-forward today and the rap trio are revered as one of the best modern day independent artists. And last night was a great testament to that.
The celebration included a few notable mentions:
- An awesome live performance.
- Too much free alcohol.
- And cameos from A$AP Rocky, A-Trak, Kitty Cash and World’s Fair.

Their new body of work, which spans a generous 19 tracks, is about “making the best out of what you have” and showcasing life’s duality. Meech, who makes up 1/3 of the Zombies, credits the concept to the group’s responsibility as artists. I can appreciate the sentiment and definitely enjoyed hearing snippets of their album live.
Shout out to the open bar for the liquid courage to pull off some of those moves last night.
